Getting Started
Starting therapy does not require having everything figured out in advance. Many people reach out because something feels heavy, confusing, or harder to manage than it used to. You do not need the perfect words for what you are carrying before taking the first step.
What to Expect
The first step is reaching out through the Contact page. From there, you can learn more about scheduling, office location options, and whether the practice may be a good fit.
In our initial work together, the focus is on understanding what brings you in, what has been weighing on you, and what you hope may begin to feel different. Therapy is not about forcing you into a rigid process. It is about creating a space to better understand what is happening and begin moving forward in a way that feels practical and workable.
Who I Work With
I work with adults navigating chronic pain, anxiety, substance use, grief, burnout, and major life transitions. Some people come in with a clear sense of what they want help with. Others simply know they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or are carrying more than they can keep managing on their own.
In Person and Telehealth
I provide counseling services through One Eighty Counseling, with in-person sessions available in Cary and Garner. While telehealth is available for clients across North Carolina, I generally prefer to begin in person whenever possible. Telehealth may be used more selectively depending on the situation, including after a working relationship has been established or when travel and scheduling create practical barriers.
Not Sure If Therapy Is the Right Fit
It is common to feel unsure about whether therapy makes sense, whether your concerns are serious enough, or whether you even know how to begin. If something in your life feels harder than it should, that alone may be enough reason to reach out.
